WHAT IS CONTACT
CONTACT Air Land and Sea is a high-quality, full-colour magazine that examines the people, platforms and operations of the world’s defence forces, with a particular emphasis on Australia. Every quarter, CONTACT features articles written mainly by men and women who are or have been soldiers, sailors or airmen and is illustrated with top-quality photography. It seeks to feature articles of interest to today’s military and military-sympathetic communities from an insider’s point of view.

CONTACT is committed to bringing its readers independent, informed and honest observations on defence-related issues. Rather than focus on platforms or capability, however, CONTACT aims mainly to tell the stories of the people behind the hardware – in their own words.

WHY ADVERTISE WITH CONTACT
CONTACT magazine, launched in March 2004, is the most exciting military magazine on the Australian market.

CONTACT is sold through newsagents Australia wide and to a growing subscriber base.

CONTACT is also sold in small numbers in specialist shops in New York, Philadelphia, Los Angles, Canada, Singapore and Malaysia, with subscribers in more than 10 countries.

CONTACT is offered in electronic page-flip format by free electronic subscription.
As at 20 January 2012, we had 2036 registered subscribers - 670 of whom used .gov.au email addresses to register.

CONTACT is purchased by Defence for supply to deployed military personnel overseas.

CONTACT is distributed through the highest offices at Defence HQ, with copies delivered directly to Service Chiefs and senior officers. It is also delivered to politicians, journalists, embassies and other targeted recipients.

CONTACT provides advertisers with a high-quality publication to showcase products to a diverse audience. It has a very strong and growing reputation in Defence HQ and elsewhere. It is a magazine that grabs attention with very high production standards. It is dedicated to providing original stories and photos that capture the essence of military life.

CONTACT Air Land & Sea is seen as an effective marketing tool by companies with a product to sell directly to an attractive niche market. It is also ideally placed to be attractive to companies with longer-term strategic aims who know that CONTACT is read and respected at the highest echelons of the Defence establishment.

CONTACT is aimed directly at service personnel, those who plan to join the ADF and anyone with an interest in Defence-related issues.

CONTACT seeks to attract quality advertisers to match our high standards of writing, photography and presentation.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
MATERIAL – the publisher will not accept responsibility for the printed quality of ads when artwork is submitted at less than above specifications. The publisher does not warrant that colours can be matched perfectly in any case. The publisher reserves the right to substitute a customer’s previous art, or any other art, when new art is not received by the applicable deadline. Full charges still apply.

REJECTION – acceptance of an advertising booking does not constitute a guarantee to publish an advertisement. The publisher reserves the right to reject advertisements for any reason, including but not limited to when artwork does not meet the high artistic standards of the magazine, is deemed offensive or defamatory, contains messages deemed contrary to the goals and aspirations of CONTACT magazine, Contact Publishing Pty Ltd, Phantom Media Pty Ltd or Defence, etc etc.
Acceptance of an advertisement for publication does not, in any way, constitute endorsement of a product or service by the publisher.

PLACEMENT – the advertiser agrees that the editor has sole descretion in deciding ad placement, except where placement premiums are paid. In deciding ad placement, the editor will give weight to; the artistic quality of the supplied artwork; the suitability of an ad being in proximity to a particular story or suitability of a particular story being in proximity to a particular advertisement; the size of the ad (smaller ads towards the back of the magazine); suitability of a particular advertisement being in proximity to any other advertisement; first in better placed; and so on.

INDEMNITY – the advertiser warrants that artwork does not breach any laws including but not limited to trademark, copyright, privacy, defamation, censorship, State or Federal – and indemnifies Contact Publishing Pty Ltd, Phantom Media Pty Ltd (and all their individual staff) from any loss or cost arising from any breach.
While all care will be taken, the publisher does not accept liability for any loss or damage caused by failure to publish supplied artwork, or through any other error, omission or placement.

PRICES – the publisher reserves the right to alter prices at any time. A customer who has signed a booking agreement will be exempt from such price variations until the current agreement ends, at which time a new price will be negotiated. Prices quoted are for the printed magazine only - however, there is currently no extra charge when the print ad appears in the electronic version. This may change. All ads that appear in the paper-based magazine are duplicated in the electronic version, but not necessarally in the same position. Ads in the electronic version are hyperlinked to the advertisers' web site (or any other link specified), currently at no extra charge. Again, we reserve the right to change this.

PAYMENT – payment is expected within 14 days from invoice date. The invoice will be sent after publication.
